Women's Ministries
Proverbs 31:10 (KJV) "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."………Proverbs 31:30 (KJV) "Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised."
“Churchgoing in the UK” a research report from tearfund on church attendance in the UK (April 2007), established that the devoted core of regular churchgoers are women (19% attend at least monthly); over 55 years old (22%); from social class AB (21%) and those of black ethnic origin (48%). It is well established that the largest segment of the local church fellowship are women and women have a vital role to play in the work and ministry of the church.
In 1928, the 23rd Annual Assembly of the Church of God of Prophecy authorised the formation of the Women’s Missionary Band (WMB) to assist the Church with its great mission programme. During that Assembly, the Questions and Subjects Committee recommended that a more-organised effort on behalf of missions be carried out by each local church organising a Church of God Women’s Missionary Band. This ministry should organise women’s groups to “stimulate and solicit missionary funds, clothing, etc., . . and assist the pastor in providing suitable methods of increasing the missionary offering on the second Sunday of each month (Minutes of 23rd Annual Assembly Church of God, p. 50)

In the nearly 80 years of our history Women’s Ministries in The Church of God of Prophecy has experienced several transformations (including a name change in 1992), developed new ministries, and established new purposes and focus for ministry.
Today, it is our role to:
- Reach women through the transforming power and love of Jesus Christ;
- Raise awareness of home and world missions and raise funds for the mission field;
- Educate, Disciple and Mentor women in the Christian faith; and
- Provide an atmosphere for women to develop their gifts, abilities, and lasting relationships.
