Community Activities
The Church of God of Prophecy has for over 20 years worked closely with the other Churches in Knowle West; and is a charter member of Knowle West Churches Together incorporating St. Barnabas, Church of England, Knowle West Baptist, Church Christ the King, Roman Catholic Holy Cross, Church of England, The Methodist Church, The Salvation Army.
Our aim is to work together for the well-being of Knowle West. Our members are involved in many community groups and activities.
We join together for a number of activities throughout the year, including prayer, the Good Friday March of witness, occasional shared services, school assemblies, community Christmas carol service, preaching exchanges and an annual family outing.
Filwood Hope which is a member of Federation of Independent Advice Centres (FIAC) adviceUK is an initiative of Knowle West Churches Together in partnership with Network Counselling & Training.
Situated on Filwood Broadway, Filwood Hope is a drop in centre where people can find friendship and sit down for tea or coffee and a chat.
As well as a drop in centre, Filwood Hope offers a range of services for the people of Knowle West, including:
- Counselling
- Benefits advice
- Housing Advice
- Debt Advice, and
- Help with forms
Our Church believes in the principle of social action and as such is a major supporter of and contributor to Christian Aid.
